Nearly 80 percent of those living in Metro DC have no meaningful relationship with a local church. As startling as this statistic seems, that’s not the real tragedy. The real tragedy is that most of those people don’t have any church pursuing them. This is not because there is no church in their community, but because local churches are struggling to survive. Christian history teaches that church planting is the means by which the gospel spreads throughout the world. The book of Acts records how Christianity rapidly changed from a regional uprising to a worldwide movement through the multiplication of small churches.
New City Network exists to disciple leaders and multiply churches among all nations beginning in Greater Washington, DC. We currently have served nearly 100 planters and their families by providing the necessary resources and training they need to be fruitful in the work of church planting.
